Letter from Mother Vianney, RSHM
Director of Marymount Barranquilla 1957-1962
My dear and devoted friends at Marymount,
Many, many thanks for your kind letter and photographs delivered to me by Patricia Olarte. What a great joy it was to welcome her and her companions and students on this visit to Marymount Convent, Tarrytown! Her visit, the letters, and photographs brought back a flood of brilliant memories of our years together in Barranquilla - those years were the happiest years of my life, because of your very generous welcome and support - in fact I can truly say that part of my heart is in Barranquilla.
Dear Patricia brought me up to date on the outstanding progress made in Barranquilla. This progress goes from glory to glory for which I thank God, the administration, the faculty, the parents, and the students, whose support has brought this progress to fruition. Thank God the “Escuela Madre Butler” continues to prosper.
I am very happily and contentedly returned here after 65 years of teaching and administering in our Marymount Schools in many countries - the United States, Colombia, England, France, and Ireland.
Again many thanks for remembering me. I am humbled to think that I did some good among you. We must keep in touch especially praying for each other.
