Our Eco Committee

Image
The Marymount Eco Committee is one of our main efforts to become a Sustainable School. With a student body of more than 1,000 students between Preschool, Elementary and High School, gathering our efforts might seem like a daunting task.

A small group of three students, three High School teachers, an Elementary School teacher and our Elementary School Principal, have started our Eco-Committee. A student from each grade will be chosen to be part of the Eco-Committee in the near future, to guarantee an inclusive process and that all students are represented.

Duties of our Eco Committee

1
Determine the theoretical framework of sustainability for the School.
2
Share the definitions agreed upon by the community in general.
3
Conduct an Environmental Audit at the community level, to identify the area of impact which we will be the focus of our Action Plan.
4
Communicate with the community to gather ideas about the actions proposed which will be included in our Action Plan.
5
Organize and implement campaigns to awaken and strengthen the conviction and commitment in the care of the environment.
6
Define sustainable practices to be adopted and implemented.
7
Design an institutional sustainability campaign in accordance with the Action Plan.
8
Share the Action Plan with the community.
